Hello, I’ve enjoyed reading your blog. I am a former PCV who just got back from Honduras about a month ago when we got evacuated. Anyway I am going to start some backpacking through Peru and I thought “who better to ask for advice, than current PCVs?”. So I guess I want to know if you have been to or have heard of the Ayacucho area, specifically the orphanage at Hogar Los Gorriones? Is the city of Ayacucho fairly safe? I’ll be in Lima for a few days starting next week. Is that where the PC office is? Is there a hotel in particular that they use to put you guys up in? Finally, my flight arrives in the middle of the night, so I’m looking for a driver/taxi to take me to a hotel. Do you guys have any suggestions? Any help is greatly appreciated.
